Spiritual transformation is often thought of as movement from darkness to light. In one sense that is true, but in another sense, it is totally false. We forget that darkness is always present alongside the light. Pure light blinds. Only the mixture of darkness and light allows us to see.”

Welcome to Sierra Agape!

What does “Agape” mean?

The word "Agape," (pronounced Ah-gah-pay) is an ancient Greek word that has been interpreted in several ways, one of which is all-encompassing love for community and selfless service to others. Therefore, by its meaning, Agape does not exclude any religion, spiritual belief, cultural belief or way of being in the world. In my work, I am committed to welcoming, serving, and honoring the stories and experiences of my clients in ways that allow them to love parts of themselves they have not been able to love and accept.

About Kimball

I am a depth psychologist and a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have been practicing couples, family, and individual therapy in private practice, county mental health, and community-based mental health for thirty years.

I have always loved the outdoors and spend a lot of time in solitude out on the trails or on my bike. I am a mother, a wife, and a grandmother; I have a strong spiritual practice, and I welcome conversations about multiple spiritual paths.

My mission is to provide clients a welcoming and safe place to discover and learn to let go of what is no longer serving the soul, to trust their hearts to inform their decisions, and to recognize when old stories are interfering with creating new stories. I am a believer in story-telling as a way of healing and I hold each story as a sacred gift.

What is “depth psychology?”

Depth psychology is the study of the human soul. In our work, we look at all the ways in which humans express our commonly shared longing for some kind of spiritual experience through creative expression, addiction, work, relationships, or belief systems.

Before you speak of peace, you must first have it it your heart…

We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home any who have lost their way”
